Registered in 1973 in London under the form of a consortium between Barclays Bank,
JP Morgan Chase and Romania (by Banca Romana de Comert Exterior. 50%, Anglo-Romanian
Bank (ARBL) operated for more than 30 years under British license.

In 1998 Bancorex became ARBL shareholder in percentage of 100% and in
September 1999, as a result of Bancorex absorption process, Banca Comerciala Romana
becomes sole shareholder of ARBL.

Part of BCR group and, as from 2000, the subsidiary fully held by the leader
of Romanian banking system, Banca Comerciala Romana.

During the year 2004 ARBL acquired the European subsidiaries of Germany
(Frankfurt Bucharest Bank) and France (Banque Franco Roumaine), achieving strategic
dimension and concentration.

The subsequent merger of the banks acquired as branches of Anglo-Romanian Bank Ltd lead
to the creation of the only bank specialized in the Romanian business environment.
